WEATHER CALENDAR – 2012 WEATHER CALENDAR
PHOTO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
DO YOU HAVE A GREAT PHOTO? We are now accepting entries for the 2012 Weather Calendars. A cash prize of $200 will be awarded to photographer submitting the winning front cover image. Winning monthly and weekly images will be featured in our regional Weather Calendars. Each winning photographer will receive one (1) free calendar.
Term:
The photo competition begins April 1, 2011, and ends July 31, 2011. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to the Official Rules and warrants that his or her entry complies with all requirements set out in the Official Rules.
Who May Enter:
The photo competition is open to ALL photographers – amateurs or professionals. By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant, that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph.
Photographs to Submit:
• ?Weather events, optical phenomena (sun halo, rainbow, crepuscular rays, etc.)
• ?Wildlife, plants, in natural settings that feature a weather phenomenon, or show seasonal change, i.e., leaf change, budding of trees, flowering, fruit ripening, animal migration, etc.
•? Landscapes and scenic views and natural scenes of your region
We are most interested in outstanding images of weather; wildlife and natural signs of seasonal change on land, in the air, or underwater, from the respective calendar state. Clearly label animals as wild or captive in the caption information (animals in the wild are preferred). Do not submit black and white photos, or images captured with cell phone cameras. Composition should be pleasing and not include overhead wires, or other obstructions.
Entrants must not infringe on the rights of any other photographer or person or submit images that involve the harassment of wildlife or damage to the environment by the photographer. Conrad Group reserves the right to disregard any images that do not fit the theme of this photo contest.
All photos should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, adjustments to color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified. This includes the digital addition or deletion of objects in the photos.
How to Enter:
Photos must be submitted in digital format. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera. High quality scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable. You may enter up to 30 photos (sumbit each photo separately).
Include a description of the subject, the month and the location where the photo was taken. If your image is selected as a candidate for use in the calendars you will be requested to send a higher resolution copy.
The Conrad Group is not responsible for lost, damaged, late or misdirected entries, or for uploading connections, garbled transmissions, unauthorized intervention or technical malfunctions.
Legal conditions:
By submitting an image for consideration you hereby grant permission and rights to store, display, and use the image, its thumbnails, and your name as the photographer, on any of the Conrad Group or sponsoring television station websites, in its Weather Calendar advertising materials, either printed, on-line, and/or broadcast promotions. Entrants retain ownership and all other rights to future use of their photographs.
In no event will the Conrad Group, their sponsoring television stations, their advertising and promotional agencies, or their directors, officers, employees, attorneys, agents and representatives be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of participant’s access to and use of the their websites, or the downloading or uploading and/or printing of material from said sites.
